Until his death in April 2007 Barry Froggatt ran
his own Website at http://barryf.co.uk/
This site included a number of sections,
one of which was devoted to the 7M9 (49th) Entry, to which
the RAFCAA Website carried a link, while others were of a personal
nature. Since April 2007, Barry's son Paul has continued
to run the site but he has now asked that a webpage for the 7M9
(49th) Entry is created within the RAFCAA Website. This
is the new page which has been raised by the Webmaster,
initially
based upon data extracted from the 7M9 Web Site, and the RAF Cranwell Association Database.
In August 1944, 60 young hopefuls arrived at
RAF Cranwell as the 7M9 (49th) Entry to train as Ground and Air
Radio Fitters. During
their training they gained 5 from Senior Entries, 6 ceased
training, while 12 of their number were re-classed to later Entries,
leaving 47 to pass out in July 1947.
