In May 1948, 59 young hopefuls arrived at
RAF Cranwell as the 1M5 (59th) Entry to train as Ground or Air Radio
Fitters. During
their training they gained 13 from Senior Entries, 10 ceased
training including 2 deaths, while 12 of their number were re-classed to later Entries,
leaving 49 to pass out in May 1951.
